《PHANTOM PILL》(2018)は、人々が希求する意識や心の状態を冠した「幻の薬」というテーマで制作された立体作品である。デイビット・R・ホーキンズ博士の意識段階の高いレベルとして分類される「ENLIGHTENMENT」や「LOVE」を中心に、「CARE」、「CONFIDENCE」、「MEANING」等と表示されたピル（薬莢）がモチーフとなっている。「幻の」という言葉に反して、立体作品という物理的な存在に作品を落とし込んでいる。
《PHANTOM PILL》(2018) is a three-dimensional work created under the theme of a pill that bears the consciousness or state of mind that people desire. The motif of the work is a pill labeled “CARE,” “CONFIDENCE,” “MEANING,” etc., centered around “ENLIGHTENMENT” and “LOVE,” which Dr. David R. Hawkins classifies as the higher levels of consciousness. Contrary to the word “phantom,” the work has been incorporated into the physical existence of a three-dimensional work.
《PANACEA PILL》（2022）は、《PHANTOM PILL》から展開され、オンライン上や仮想世界（メタバース）において存在する「万能薬」をテーマにNFT作品（イメージデータ)の作品として制作された。《PANACEA PILL》のPanaceaは「万能薬」を意味し、pan(すべて)とakos(治療)に由来する。癒しや治療を司るギリシア神話に登場する女神「パナケイア（古希: Πανάκεια, Panakeia）」、ローマ神話の「パナケア（ラテン語: Panacea）」を語源とし、中世の錬金術師たちがエリクサーや賢者の石の材料と考えた霊薬の名でもある。花崎はこれまでにも、《In Other Words》（2020）で「正義の女神」を引用する等、現代的課題の源流を普遍的な人間的課題の一端として考察を続けており、今作にも「癒しや治療を司る女神」の名が引用されている。2020年代の幕開けとともにパンデミック（語源はpan(すべて)とdemos(人々)）が広がり世界情勢が揺れ続ける中、「癒しや治療」という課題に注目が集まった。現実世界において対症療法的な治療は根本的な解決策にはなり得ないが、それぞれの状態について内的なイメージを生成する装置性を有する作品がイメージとして人から人の手に渡り続けることで効能を発揮すると考えられるのかもしれない。
“PANACEA PILL” (2022) was developed from “PHANTOM PILLS” and was created as an NFT work (image data) on the theme of a “Panacea” that exists online and in the virtual world (metaverse). The word “Panacea” is derived from pan (everything) and akos (cure). It is also the name of an elixir considered by medieval alchemists to be an ingredient in elixirs and the Philosopher’s Stone. Hanasaki has previously examined the origin of contemporary issues as part of universal human issues, such as in “In Other Words” (2020), in which she cites the “goddess of justice,” and the name of the “goddess of healing and cure” is also cited in the current work. At the dawn of the 2020s, as pandemics (etymologically derived from pan (all) and demos (people)) spread and the world situation continued to shake, the issue of “healing and cure” came into focus. In the real world, symptomatic treatment cannot be a fundamental solution, but works of art that have the device of generating internal images of each condition may be considered effective if they continue to be passed from one person to another as images.
